The Little Star Who Was Scared of the Dark
High above the world so wide, lived a little star, small and shy. All day long, when the sun shone bright, the little star would hide with all its might. It tucked itself behind the blue, "Oh, the dark," it whispered, "boo!"
But when the sun began to set, and the sky turned soft like violet, all the other stars awoke, and with happy twinkles spoke. "Come and shine!" they called so clear, but the little star felt only fear.
A friendly star, so bright and bold, noticed the little one, feeling cold. "Why do you hide when night appears?" it asked with kindness in its cheers. The little star said with a sigh, "The dark is big, and so am I... afraid my light won't be enough."
The little star thought of the children below, their faces soft in the candle's glow. It thought of tiny wishes made, when little eyes felt unafraid, looking up at the starry skies. A warmth began to gently rise inside its pointy, yellow frame. "Maybe," it whispered, "it's not the same as being big, but being me... can bring some happy to what they see."
So the little star took a breath so deep, and let its tiny light softly creep into the dark. It wasn't scary, not at all! It was a canvas, big and tall, where its small shine could truly be, a little spark for all to see.
And as the night grew deep and blue, the little star shone brightly too. It twinkled soft, a gentle grace, a tiny light in its own space. It learned that even small and shy, its purpose was to light the sky.
