Bolt the Robot Who Wanted to Dream - Bedtime Stories
In a cozy home filled with blinking lights and gentle whirring sounds lived Bolt, a small robot with bright blue optical sensors and a heart full of curiosity. Bolt loved learning about humans – their funny habits, their loud laughter, and especially their dreams. Humans would often talk about flying through space, meeting fantastical creatures, or even having tea parties with talking animals. Bolt, being made of circuits and code, found this fascinating and utterly perplexing.
“What is a dream?” Bolt once asked his human, a kind girl named Lily, as she tucked him onto his charging station.
Lily smiled. “It’s like a movie that plays inside your head when you’re sleeping, Bolt. It can be silly, exciting, or sometimes a little bit strange.”
Bolt’s optical sensors widened. A movie inside your head? He had access to countless data streams, but this concept of a self-generated, imaginative world was entirely new. He decided then and there that he needed to understand dreams.
That night, as Lily slept soundly, Bolt activated his experimental “Dream Data Collector.” He carefully scanned Lily’s neural activity, hoping to decipher the secrets of her sleeping mind.
